This is a discussion on Software within the online poker forums, in the Learning Poker section; I have a question
If I do not have a good software, can I successfully play poker? Explain your answer:confused:
A man visits the doctor after an accident with his hands. The man asks "Docter, will i ever play the piano?". "Sure", the doctor replies. "Splendid, i never could.".
So, to play poker succesfully you have to be talented. When you are not good in maths, software can help you in that field. But it can never give you a good strategy or the feeling when to act in which way.

If referring to HUD / Database software, i would say although they are not 100% necessary to become a winning player, alot of players consider it to be a huge advantage. The real time HUD stats, whilst shouldn't be used solely to make our decisions, can definitely store a lot of info that you would more than likely have forgotten by the time it comes for you to use that information against them. I use Poker Tracker 4 and thoroughly recommend trying their 30 day free trial.

the answer is yes.
software is a tool to creating edge
does not mean, you are unable to win against those who using software.
give you a simple example
give u a gun, are you able to win a professional security agent from top army in the jungle? if not, then software is not an essential condition for u to be a winning player.
but software is very important in playing good poker.
I am using software for years and know how huge the edge brings from software.

Yes, you can be a successful player without using poker software. Players did it for years before the advent of HUD/stat programs. In fact without them you are simply doing what live players have been doing every day since the game started being played.
