I've been playing SnG double your money, I say playing but I've been grinding HARD, for 6 hours a night after work.

I consider myself a good, solid player, I'm playing at £1 stakes and I find that I'll win 3 and lose 3, win another 2, lose another 2, win 5 lose 5, I always lose the same amount I win, my bankroll has taken a nose dive, I don't want to move down stakes because I can handle this level, I did move down to see if there was any difference but it happened again.

How can I remain consistent?

How many tables?
the key in my experience is obviously avoiding turbos. I just find no matter how good I play what hand I have in a turbo the sequence of variance will ensure I run bad an even amount if the time.

Essentially having longer blinds allows time to outplay opponents and in low stake sit n gos players are prone to makin mistakes when we have position on them. Both passive and aggressive.

further to that your solid game may need a bit more depth it might be time to start analysing each player thinking about your push\calling range and their push calling range.
We need to review hands from the games we are losing and find out the reason why and in what situations the opposition got the better of us.

for example was it A that villain was calling our shoves calling the river, were they donking.
Or B we made a mistake calling off and were actually dominated.
If you can study a sample of your losing games try and find a tendancy your have been doing which could of been prevented
and think how you can adapt this into your game in a way where you are playing more solid more aware of opponents. Try and calculate your push\call range in a way you either cant beexploited as much or a wway you can exploit the opponent better for more Ev

I play one or two tables at a time.

I think its a mixture of both, players donk, get lucky which leads me to play hands that I shouldnt way out of position.

Hmm, back to basics for now I think, ABC poker!

very hard to make money in those unless you can mass multi table.

you need to play very tight in these games also, which is hard to do when you are only playing 2 tables. playing hands you shouldn't is a surefire way to lose in these games.

Think I read some where you need about a 65 to 70 % cash rate to make a decent profit in the DONs not sure if that is achievable or not as I have only played a couple of these........scorp

How good you are can only be gauged relative to the level you play at. Assuming your sample size is large enough to draw at least tentative conclusions, the fact you're losing money at your current level suggests you're not good enough to be a +EV player, which you have to be in order to make make money.

Players who insist they can handle a level where they're losing comprise a great source of profit for winning players. Your ego and your results seem to be giving you different messages. It's in your self-interest to believe the latter.

I'd recommend playing anything but double or nothings. With a small BR, just playing some 50c MTT SnG's, much better returns and you can move up in stakes quickly with the amount of hours you're putting in at the moment.

DONs have always been known to be the area of poker where cheating is most frequent. pokerstars had to admit to a obvious one a few years back that busted a big ring from China. Reason they where limited to one per a table.
Smaller sites often have bots running that will tank and play perfect abc poker.

The turbo vs standard play is really not that big of a issue honestly.
You will find more donks in turbo but if you play standard the average standard of player IQ will increase slightly. So play one table at a time till you have a good feel for the blinds, positional play and bubble exploitation.

You have to remember that a low entrance fee will also wreck your chance of not having a atc player at your table. In low entrance DONs I would fold the first round of hands till its obvious who the lucky donk is and how nitty the other players are going to be. You can expand from there by getting in hands headsup with the donk or tightening up if the other players are looking for action still.
