I've been grinding SNGs and MTTs for quite some time now, my poker exeprience is based on them but since I would like to devote more time to playing the game seriously I'd like to focus on cash games and I'm here to ask for your advice on how to transition. Any links, opinions and advice will help alot.

What buyin level of sng's/mtt's were/are you playing? What site do you play on?

Just curious but besides becomming more serious about poker (which one can do while still grinding sng's/mtt's) what is it about cash games that has you wanting to focus there? Not that its a bad thing to focus on, just curious as havn't really seen anyone mention because they want to get more serious about poker be a reason to switch to cash?

The biggest adjustment your going to have is that you need to learn to be playing deeper always, which means more postflop play. Essentially think of it being like the first level of blinds in a sng or mtt and they never increase and if you stack someone they don't usually go anywhere and can battle with you and the rest of the table to get those monies back.

Have you ever played cash games before? What is your br or what level essentially do you plan on starting to grind?

Are you looking at playing 6max, fr or zoom (speed poker)? All of these will determine the best routes to take for adjustment to cash games.

Are you prone to tilt, if so make sure you take some time to focus on the mental game as well just from my opinion cash games bring out the tilt monster in me more than any other game.

You could find that you might not enjoy cash games as much as sng's/mtt's once you get into it and how serious and focused you get is going to have to do with playing what you enjoy as well.

I wish you luck in the switch, if you can answer some questions I'm sure we can get you loads more pointers.

Thank you for posting, I'm sorry for offering such a low amount of info, I was playing micros 1.50-3.50 and two weeks ago I deposited $40 on stars before that I was playing on 888 with no success, now I'm up to $102 with my BR

The main reason to transit is the swings on my roll that I get from sng as the same games that got me this far (9man sngs and fifty50) now seem swingier, today I cashed 18 out of 40 fifty50s and bubbled all 5 9mans

So altho I love the tournament dinamics way more than cash I am thinking of changing just for the lower variance
