Hey guys,

Posted a while back asking about which SnG game is the most profitable to play for some cash on the side (I'm a college student, don't need a ton of money but $30-50 a week would be great). I'm now reading Super Systems 2 and feel that a lot of the material is geared towards regular games.

So my question is: which would you recommend I play? SnG (been playing DoN $1 and top 3 places pay out $1) or .02/.05 tables?

Thanks!

It all depends on what you are better at. I grind in cash in lose it buying into tourneys. I can def build a small amount faster on 5nl.
However it is the opposite for others.
Find what you are good at and go for it-Good luck!

Also, as far as .02/.05 games, NL or limit? Brunson talks about limit games a lot and bets in relation to pot size. Something that I feel isn't as concrete in NL games. I've been playing NL but reading this book makes me feel like I should learn how to play limit well...

i would say cash games since ive been getting knocked out of sng's today to donks. cash seems to be more straight foward since people can simply rebuy rather then when it comes down to it in the end and it all preflop all-ins which i have been getting sucked out on lately :(

cashtables

well mate i think that cashtables is the best alternetive atleast for me. I've been working 1$ to 18$ in about a week so my bankroll is growing:) at ct you can wait for a really good hand and play it out strong with no blinds or antes ticking. I think that its much safer if you play defensive at cashtables to earn some cash. :) :) This is my soulution and its working fine for me hehe :)

take care / kAAzENBRE

Small Stakes Hold'em: Winning Big with Expert Play was the book that really shifted my mindset towards winning the micros. It's a limit hold'em book, but the pre-flop mentality is a great one for the low stakes, and it helps you to learn when to make calls and why. With some limit foundation, your NL game can only improve! Good luck! :)

I did the 2/5 tables the other day for the first time and within 45 minutes i went from 2$ to 13$. I was pleased but most of the time Sit n go's can be the faster money depending on what ur buying in with.
