Don't get too excited when you find one of your hole cards is an ace. Playing at a full table means that 20 out of the 52 cards have been dealt about 38%.
The probability that one of the other players also has an ace in his hole cards is approximately 75%. If you are not in the big blind and have a small kicker the wisest thing to do is fold. Do NOT see the flop thinking you might make a small straight.

Playing tight is acceptable, but when you have ace the posibilities the others not have an ace are much more. Ace will have another three or less.

Don't you think what hand you play is entirely position dependant? Regardless of whether the table is full ring or not, if I'm holding A3s on the button and it folds to me, I'm probably raising.

But I think that the original point, to keep in mind that you will have kicker problems if you play the hand, is a good idea. But it's just that, something to consider.

What do you do if you're UTG in an MTT, UTG with only 2.5 BBs and you have A6s?

It kinda depends on the table. For me it's leaning towards shoving, but if the table is a donkey stable I might just call.

That's an easy shove for me.

Remember that having only 2.5BB means that you will get called/iso-raised light in this spot, so your equity is going to be good.

And do what exactly with 1.5BB left vs a raise?
Once you're down to 2.5BB it's a crapshoot anyway.

I can not lose a pair and it does not matter what they have on their hands
