How smart is it, to just limp with aces once in a while.
What do you think?

Do you limp other hands as well? Cause if you don't, you're giving away your hand.

I wouldn't do it, unless you're on a table with other regs AND if you limp other hands as well.

Online it's a bad move. You're better off disguising it by not 4-betting a 3-bet than by limping, imo.

it is not necessary to pull the aces unless you are sure that you are sitting behind the aggressive opponents are sure will increase in response to your limp .

When playing online poker with a 100bb stack, I'll never limp Aces. There are times when I'll flat a 3-bet to disguise the strength of my hand, but that's as far as I'll go with slow playing AA.

Only if I think someone will raise, then re-raise with Aces after limping.

I love to slowplay AA but more in cash games rather than in tournaments. If you know that you have an agressive player behind you still to act, it is very nice to flat raise or just limp, cause they are most likely to raise. Still you have to remember you don't treat your hand like nuts if there comes board 9TJ mono, so you can easily get rid of your AA. But if they hit top pair on dry board, you usually get double up or thier stack ;)

Limp is the biggest mistake would be. In no case. I saw these players. Half are not luck. You can hide under not the big 3 -beta raise.

with 3bb bet u are never sure with what your opponent has call you with, specially when u are playing freeroll or some not mega important tournament, so u can't know if flop is 3 6 6, he might called you with 67c and your AA is busted

Maybe it is the best because, if the others see you all in, most of them will fold!

As with all things in poker it is situational but generally speaking, slow playing AA is a sure way to get them cracked. By slow playing you allow marginal hands into the game and give them a chance to fill their draws.

The rules are, you can slow play poc A's, but if they get cracked, no complaining, explaining, whining or bitching allowed.
Posting in the Bad Beats thread after slow playing A's & getting them cracked is grounds for immediate banning.

why , oh why, try to invent the wheel over and over and over again ?
I guess about now, at CC alone there's more threads opened about how to play AA than I will get dealt AA in a lifetime......

So basically, going back to OP's question.....yes....once in a while it might be a good choice to just limp (depends on opponents to act behind and your image) , but most of the times a raise or 3-bet is best.

After last night I will never even think to play slow AA.
Last night I saw two players who played slowly AA and they both lose. One freak raise a half of the pot on every street even though the flop already smell on the straight, and of course he lost his entire stack. Another who was also clever to play slow AA he lost from BB with 93 hand on the flop Q33.

Doyle Brunson suggests slow play in EP and MP, which works well if aggressive ppl are behind you.

Doyle Brunson wrote that book in the '70s, about live games.

Today's poker doesn't look like that anymore...

If your intention is to reraise afterwards, then theres nothing wrong about ir.

The only throwback is when no one raises and have multi opponents now.

Never limp with aces. You must be agressive with 'em.Like said in comments above if you just limp with 'em you allow other solid cards to enter flop, wich is most of the time deadly for aces

I will play them both ways. It is better to be real Aggressive with them, but it is nice to sneak in with them and to look at a set.
