Hiya AKQ here! Welcome all members. I have seen many posts that are associated with the value of sleep, how it affects you mentally, tilt, loss of caring to win and rash decisions.
Im going to pull up a specific week I'll never forget and analyze sleep patterns to results



Day 1 60$ bankroll ( well rested)
2nd in the 1.50 pl freezeout 16.22$
7th in the 150$ 1.50 1c addon 19.29$
other finishes that day 19th,29,13,57,79,

Day 2 on no sleep BR 70~
2nd 1.50 PL freezeout 6 max 18$

Day 3 sleeps 4 hours and begins playing 100$+

Bankroll went $60-2500+ in one week
Day 7 only 12-18 hours total for the week. I decide to play the casino stock market.
Before I know it im betting 500$ every 5 minutes on if it goes up or down after those minutes. Lack of sleep causes a drunkness effect after so many days to even an experienced poker binger like myself. Causing me to blow it all within minutes and have nothing but a history page to show my dominance of the game.


So did lack of sleep hurt my results well yes and no. The data says I win more after my 24+ hours of being awake and I lose more often after I am well rested. But after day 6 you will lose all thought process damaged to anything not poker related and blow it all someway or another or possibly an actual health concern arises .
So after 24-72 hours I apparently do better in poker but after that the benefits are negative due to lack of sleep. I personally lost more than I won on the 72-96 hours of no sleep. Than the entire week of winning combined.

Plain and simple sleep is good for you.Sure if you are experienced a little sleep lag doesnt stop from dominating. But if youre not used to binging your 2nd daymight seem like the 7th to you.
This sleep debate is really player dependent as many players Barry green stein and I know. We can make informed decisions and make recollections do mathematical equations and understand how to outplay you without putting much effort into it.

. But if you asked Barry to be your pyschologist for an hour. He wouldnt last very long. probably either a headache frustration or just fall asleep. The things we do well and constantly become things we do out of instinct and reaction with enough time. Barry could play in his sleep and beat you.
Sleep is important for your health, safety while traveling to and from anywhere. even your computer to your bed. Can cause you to forget other things that were important that directly affect poker such as whens the internet bill due.

I guess what I'm saying is lack of sleep or the abundance of sleep affects every player differently.
Coupled with random table dynamics, the same rash decisions you make while tired can turn to be good or bad depending on the tables dynamic.
So sleepiness might actually affect a player in a goodway on certain table dynamics and completely opposite to another table composition.
