So, in the SNG I'm playing atm, I'm ranked 2nd with 16000 chips, blinds 100/200, what should I do now? Tighten up and only play the premiums, or try and bully with my stack?

Just play tight-aggressive.

Pick on small stacks.

Not necessarily this ^ at all. (better to pick on med. stacks).

It's pretty much impossible to answer your question without knowing the table dynamics (& player reads). You need to be looking at other stack sizes on the table & for ex. > know which ones you'll be priced in to call if they reshove over your raises. (lots of other stuff too.. it's basically SNG Strategy 101 tbh)).
You'd probably need to post some specific hands/spots for decent feedback.

PO is right - small stacks have their backs against the wall and are going to shove out either desperation or (God forbid) actually have a hand. Medium stacks are more likely to fold as they feel like they can wait a little longer for those aces while shorty will shove with 89 figuring he has two live cards anyway.

Pick on small stacks.

That's just horrible advice. The medium stacks at the table are going to be playing uber tight trying to make the money before they are willing to get their stacks in, the small stacks have nothing to lose. You WANT the small stacks to stick around as they are the only thing allowing you to continue picking on the medium stacks. There are many times where I've been chip leader with 4 left and its folded to me in the small blind and I will actually fold a good hand if the small stack is in the BB because I want that threat still there and I can continue to acquire most of the remaining chips from the middle stacks so that I have most of the chips on the table once the bubble finally does burst.

You are trying to put yourself in the best possible position to WIN the tournament, not trying to knock out small stacks and get in the money.

if u want to aim final table and win i think u have to play agressive, because if u only w8 good cards mby they wont show up and blinds will eat you at some time or mby just eat a lot of your chips and then when u come on push or fold phase u will be scared to play :/ When you are chip leader you have to think on time, steal blinds, little bluff and of play smart, dont tillt if bluff fails etc.
Am talking from personal experience, because when ever i played shy like a chip leader it cost me in some part of the game ;S

Since you have 80BB, the 3rd, 4th, 5th chip stacks must be ultra small. Would be interested to know everyone's stack if you can post. I would wait for those chips stacks to consolidate, basically for 2 eliminations (assuming they are super small). Play TAG until then. Avoid bigger stack and be aware you have no fold equity against super short stacks so only raise there blinds if you think you are +EV against their calling range.
