Hi, I've been grinding Sit n Gos on a new site for a week now and quintupled (5x) my bankroll, just wondered how many buy ins I should have before moving up into the next highest stakes? 50 buy ins, 100?- also is this the new stakes buy ins or the current 1? Thanks.

imo i think 75 buyns somewhere in the range of 50 buyins and 100 buyins is perfect to move up to the next level, 100 buyins will make you feel more comfortable and imo when you are comfortable you play way better.

Yeah I was going to wait until I had 100 buy ins but as I'm running so good it makes sense to up the stakes at 75 buy ins right? I can always drop down if I fall to 50 Buy ins (old stakes)

well what i personally do is when i drop below 75 buyins i move down, pick a number of buyins that you are willing to stick to from 50 - 100 and once you fall below that number you must drop levels.

brm is SOOO IMPORTANT to build a nice bankroll. the reason why players go broke is because of poor brm skills, everyone gets lucky but luck doesnt last forever.

I think you can try from 75 buy-in, and if you had the downswing, you could go back to previous rates. personally I use the method 100 buy-in.

High(er) Stakes

I'm a big fan of a larger than normal cushion when shifting levels. I always find myself playing more cautious for a bit when I move up and invariably take a hit for my cowardice. It takes me a few hundred hands at a new level to get comfortable throwing twice as much on the table.

That said, I think 50 is fine to take a shot if it's 50 of the new level.

Hold on, you did not tell us what sng's you are playing. If it's just STTs which are turbo or regular 75 would be fine I guess.

it's better to have 200+buy ins, to go to the higher limits just up, not down!

Though 100 buyins looks very appropriate to move up the stake...I have always stuck to 70 buyins to move up and it worked pretty well !!! I continue to do so..
