I am not clear on the rules for showing your hand at the showdown in a live game.

1. The first player to the left of the dealer (player 1) must show their hand.
2. The next player to the left only has to show their hand if they beat player 1 ?
3. Subsequent players to the left only show if they beat the highest shown hand so far ?
4. All players to the left of the winning hand will not have to show their cards unless they choose to?

or do all players to the right of the winning hand have to show their cards?

I had this issue a little while ago. The answer is as follows:

At showdown, the last aggressive player shows first, then it proceeds clockwise. If there was no aggressive actions on the river the first player to the left of the dealer shows first, proceeding clockwise. Players who don't beat the previous hand can muck their hands.

I had it once where I mucked and another player asked to see my hand, and the dealer complied, this is permitted but is thought to be rude. In online software if you check the previous hand after the showdown you can see mucked hands

This is the common rule I know of and most others in the thread agreed

^That makes sense, thanks.

I guess in a home game it is maybe more fun to just see everybody's hands.

Do any people play that all showdown players show their hands in home games?

I was thinking of doing that for our next home game.
