I been wanting to learn how to play like a reg on Micros for quite some time. But I find myself doing better in tournaments when I play. Do you guys adjust on balancing out your day to day time? I find it easier being a field player, but it tends to take quite a long time sometimes, and cash multi tabling seems legit for someone who plays day to day.

I want to stick with where I stand strong, but I also want to become strong on other games.
should I just stick to tournaments since thats already there ?

Only you will know.
Its like anything... if you want to good at something, you're going to need to put in the time. (< time playing & studying... in whatever form that might be that works for you).

Its nice to try everything.

If you believe you are good at that game, you can devote 60-65% of it and 40-35% to others.

In the beginning of my online playing I always played mtt, and never really did good. Trying to figure this out was like when I play live I seem to do good. So I figured out that live I was playing smaller fields as the online with 3K+. So I tried the sng and finally starting gaining some capital. Like some have said, you have to take a taste of em all and see what flavor suits you. I really like the mtt more the rush of adrenaline hits me harder on those. I just have to win some sng that I can play in mtt.

As a live cash guy, I have to say tournament players were some of best friends.

If tournaments is what you know but wanna play cash, slowly start working your way over. Do understand it's a quite different game though as today's tournaments quite quickly devolve into preflop commitment decisions.

As long as you put in the effort no reason you can't excel at both

On Full Flush I play regular a table along with a MTT. They are so much different but the reason I do this is because I may run good on one and not the other and this gets my money back and more most of the time. Have run good on both but I have never run bad on both. Anyway good luck no matter which you play.

If no experience cash games, it is better to start learning to play with a short stack at the MSS on FR tables with plan 50-60 BI on the limit, depending on the number of tables, win rate and tilt stability...

Its always good for your poker repitior to play different variations and formats. I was primarily a tournament player for years as well and one day just decided to try ring games. Did alright after some adjustments.

Its all about putting in the necessary time and effort to make an honest go at any new format and variation. Its easy to stick to what you're comfortable at, but its always good to challenge something new.

Don't be afraid to mix it up, I switch from Cash, Sng's to MTT's. It keeps poker fresh and exciting for me.
