My friend asked me this question today :)
He is a big fish by now :D huge beginner. But should he make that deposit or should he try his luck in freerolls, or maybe train himself in play money?
I asume trying to make a bank in freerolls is the best option for him.

If he is total fish he should play freerolls. If he make deposit I'm pretty sure that he lost all bankroll in one day. Give him advice to start learning.

When I started playing poker I made several deposits 30 $ each month.
I lost those money in a first week. So it's way better to start off with playing freerolls.
In this way you'll understand game and will learn some basic things

Freerolls all day. You can really get a lot of practice and build some bankroll. Then by the time you got enough money using good bankroll management like 2% play some tournaments and go up from there. I have done a lot of research and its all about minimizing your losses.

If you want to learn how to play and poker seriously for you, better make a deposit so your training will be faster than playing freerolls

if you re getting started, you should use some "no deposit bonus". For example, u can open a a new account on 888poker and they will give you $8. Seems a good option for beginners

I would recommend him as a beginner ,if he was wanting to deposit.Deposit into a subscription poker site such as NLOP or Pureplay. He will pay$20 a month to play all the real money scheduled monthly tourneys.Paying out any where from $25 to $1,000 or even win wsop seats.

Free rolls for sure. Can make a few bucks for sure without risking any. Its easy to build a small roll from free rolls. Make sure if he does deposit to get rakeback at a good site that offers free rolls too like Raketherake.

I think the deposit will not hurt anyone. At the same time opens withdrawal. Let cook at the same time the photo documents.

I'd advise the CC freerolls. Great practice IMHO.

Since hes a newbie, I go for freerolls too.

You are adapting yourself about online poker at the same time risking nothing and giving a bonus if you are ITM.

I think this is a very good option, especially for honing your tournament skills. As the cash games on these sites are for play money, I don't think they're very likely to give a true representation of what real money cash games are like. But then again, even in real money cash games, there is a huge difference in the kind of play you can expect in a $5NL game compared to $500NL.

When it comes to tournaments, there are certain things that I find to be true whether you are playing on a membership site or a real money poker site or whether you're playing a buy-in tournament on a free roll. Some people are going to be willing to donk off there chips utilizing a play bad/get lucky style of play. Others are going to take the game more seriously, as good players are always going to try to avoid playing bad, and hate losing just as much as they enjoy winning.

These are the players that will give you a taste of what it's like to compete with strong poker players. There are plenty of them to be found on the membership sites. When you find yourself making deep runs against them and battling it out for a seat at the final table on regular basis, you will be ready for tournament play on any real money site.

if he don't care about loosing money, he can make a small deposit and play the low stakes , either he should play freerolls, it's the best way for beginner ...

It makes sense. Minimal deposits often give you the right to play better freerolls. And the right to withdraw, in many rooms. If you play bad just don't enter in paid tournaments. Until you earn much more in freerolls than have put.

Nothing wrong with making a min deposit and playing the micro stakes. Simultaneously he should be reading book and watching videos.

If he knows the rules and isn't a complete & total beginner, I'd move into micro stakes quickly. Folks behave much differently at the play money tables. Even very small stakes seem to clean a lot of that up and to encourage more rational/reasonable play.
