Every year I try to get to the wsop via on-line satellites. I get through levels up to about £5 and then get knocked out when they get to about £20. I've reached the conclusion that the higher levels may be beyond my skill level and that it would be better to perhaps forget Vegas and just save up a couple of hundred pounds and enter a UKIPT in the UK

It depends on the cost, structure and payout. I don't like most satellites and hate to see people spend half of a buy-in trying to win the buy-in. Personally I would rather just buy-in in the first place lol.

However there is a satellite to the Ladie's WSOP this summer that I will definitely play in - I like my odds.

Sattelites for FPPs are good into tournaments when it's out of your bankroll. Like a 50FPP to a $5 buy in tournament etc; They're usually a 6 max ring game with top 2 going through etc;

I think it worth yes, provided you are safe to play the tournament if you win the vacant , because no good you win, and stand not knowing how to play the tournament, afraid to play.

I do play some sattelites to get into the higher buyin tournies but some sattelites are ridiculous

i've used the FPP 6max, SnG to win a $3.30 buyin to another tournament..

then i unregister from the tourney and use the 3.30 tournament-cash to buy entries into other tourneys....

for awhile i was entering .10 360player SnGs... good learning experience at a cheap cost and an opportunity to create a small bankroll...

lately, i've taken the 3.30 and entered 1.50 10 player 50-50 SnGs to turn the Tournament-cash into real cash....

which i then blow at the 2nl Zoom tables....

a cheap way to practice bankroll management and learn and earn

Can be worth it. Alot of big names in the game made their first breakthrough with Satellites. I've been looking at a few of the $100+ satellites for the APPT Macau packages, they're valued at close to 10k and it's a damn good investment if you make it. But I'm still tossing up wether I want to or not, not to mention the game in Macau will be the toughest I've ever seen.
