There is no "right" playing style. What is best against 1 particular player might not work against the next. In general if your playing against a bunch of loose players play tight, if playing against a bunch of tight players play looser. Being Aggressive is probably the only thing that could be considered the "right" playing style, though there might be situations where its not.
As always in poker it depends, and is situational.
One of the major mistakes I see people doing is when they try to adapt to their opponents, they're overdoing it. Surely, if your opponent is tight, you can loosen up and add a couple of hands into your ranges, but that doesn't mean you should start playing junk, it will get you into some wierd spots. Same for the loose opponents, don't become a complete nit. Lastly, remember that you can use your table image for your own benefit.
