So I was having a homegame yesterday and I was in some struggling situations. I just want to know if it is possible to play better than that? Results wont matter since right plays are right.

blind 25/50

Situation 1:

I was UTG+2 straddle (400) with :3s4::5h4:. HJ called with :ah4: :qs4:. CO called with :4d4: :qd4:

flop: Ace Diamond. :ad4: :3c4: :5d4:.

I bet 700, HJ re-raised 1.400, CO called 1.400.

I pushed all-in with 5.300

HJ called (~5600 stack). CO called (~4k stack). 3-way all in.

Turn: Q. River: 7. AQ got all the chips.

Situation 2:

I was in button with :jc4::9c4: call straddle 200

Flop: :kc4::5c4::10c4:

UTG bet 700, UTG+2 re-raised 1,400 w :ac4: :kd4:

I jammed. 5.100 stack. Everyone folded to UTG+2 and he called (~4k3 stack).

Turn: :6c4:. River :qs4:.

What's your opinions? Cheers.

About 2nd situation, when I don't have the nuts flush, I usually call till river just to check if there is no the 4th club on the board. I'm ok to call any bet with flush but I admit villain can improve to better flush or fullhouse, it happens from times to times.

The thing is he called a bet before my reraise so probably he got top pair. The chance of holding AK is low cause he didnt raise pre-flop. The only hand he can hold to beat me is KQo or AKo and his fold equity is high as hell.

And I dont think you can fold a flopped flush easily here though. I know by going through turn and river you would have a broader view, however by just calling you r putting yourself in a passive situation.

Well, I was not talking about folding a flush on such a flop, I was just saying that you can just call instead of jamming - you can still go all-in on the river.

So what he had, top pair with top kicker with backdoor for the nut flush - do you really consider that was a bad play of him in this LAG era?

I mean there is a chance that you r behind when you see the whole board, so I personally want to steal medium pot instead of slowplay here.

It could be different in other situation though.

Thanks for your ideas.

Well, that's the difference between us, I prefer to slowplay big hands(straight++).With this tactic usually I win less pots but huge pots, sometimes I can fold the best hand without knowing that - this is the negative part of the passive style of play. Agressive players win chips by bluffing while taking risks, tight players "win chips" taking less risks and saving their own chips.

No problem, take in consideration that I'm not a very well experienced player, just 4 or 5 months while playing poker. It's up to you to decide what is best for you, have a nice day man!

I do slowplay value hands, I mean unpredictable value hands (same pair high kicker since I have pretty good read on villians) but sometimes my instinct tells me that I should not let things happen till the end. I did have feels on those hands above, however if I slowplayed it I could've escaped. Didnt expect them to call me even when I was ahead on those hands though, lol.
