question from some one still learning this game,,,

lets say I am the 1st person to raise - lets say to 1000 chips - Player to my left re raises to 1700 , All players fold back round to me , Can I call this re-raise? and if so do I have to put in another 1700 or just the 700 difference as I raised 1st?

I have only played online and every action is prompted for you so this I why I am unsure,

any info on this or raising/re-raising in general appreciated

In no-limit and pot-limit games, there is a minimum amount that is required to be bet in order to open the action. In games with blinds, this amount is usually the amount of the big blind. Standard poker rules require that raises must be at least equal to the amount of the previous bet or raise. For example, if an opponent bets $5, a player must raise by at least another $5, and he may not raise by only $2. If a player re-raises a bet of $5 by $7 (for a total of $12), the next re-raise would have to be by at least another $7 (the previous raise) more than the $12 (for a total of at least $19). The primary purpose of the minimum raise rule is to avoid game delays caused by "nuisance" raises (small raises of large bets, such as an extra $1 over a current bet of $50, that have little effect on the action but take time as all others must call). This rule is overridden by table stakes rules , so that a player may in fact raise a $5 bet by $2 if that $2 is his entire remaining stake. All info about betting

Based on the experiences I have had recently I can say that if your opponent just fold your stake, it shows that this scared of you may have but still feels the front (two pair or semi bluff). If he bet 3 or 4 times what you bet, he demonstrates great strength and think this much in front (straight or flush). And if he goes all in, I believe you may have hit the maximum torque loud and kicker, he hardly shows good cards because he has a good hand but did not hit anything or only bet with top pair on hand. Do not rely on this, but not always well or game thinking like that.

Yes you can call, and as you already put 1000 in the pot it's just gonna cost you 700 more to equal the 1700.

You can call by matching his reraise.

You have the option likewise of folding or still raise his reraise.
