There are three different types of reading in poker, The first is to buy a good book by an established poker player and learn from him. The second is to read the flop, turn and river commonly known as the board. Practice on your own, deal out hands and figure out all the combination of hands that can be made from the cards shown. The third is to read your opponents (tells). Study the players you are up against, look for little idiosyncracies, watch their body language if you are live, the time they take to bet. You will soon find out a whole lot about them.
