Ratholing - Allowed on online poker sites?

Hi People,

I'm just wondering if it's normal for online poker sites to allow ratholing? It seems this is a bit of a grey area - i.e. this is more about etiquette than hard rules.

hi Dtex, most have a time limit or you have to buy in with what you left with.

Is it essential to have a policy, though? I've heard that some allow this practice...

On the merge network I'm pretty sure it is a halfhour before you can go to same table with lower level of chips than when you left...not sure about any other sites...sat out to make a quick lunch and got booted from table...tried to rejoin at my normal buy in and said minimum buy in 11.35 instead of the 4.00

Its leaving the table just to return with less money.
So say you sit down with 5$, you then double up to 10$ and leave the table just to sit back down with 5$.

Rat holing is done on the supposition that it is more likely that you will lose with a bigger stack on the table than to continue winning. The question that occurs to me is this: Why even play, if you have no confidence in your ability?

just another strategy ...some prefer deepstack and others play short.

if it wasnt effective then the sites wouldnt have installed minimum buyins awhile back...

It's a rule in every casino..If anyone leave a table then casinos charge 5$ because i don't know much about live casinos game..Can you tell me??
