6Max allows you to raise preflop with a broader range of hands that full ring games. What would you say is your minimum raising hand from UTG in 6Max, generally speaking?

A9? KQ?

Thanks!

Note, I'm talking cash games.

In general my range for UTG 6max is 22+,ATs+,AJo+,KQo and sometimes i throw in some SC.

But it depends alot on the table dynamics, some tables u could profitably open alot wider where others u be better of droping the bottom of your range.

Whilst im a FR player, A9 and KQo are not strong enough in a 6 max game to open UTG.

It all comes down to position, its importance and the fact that in EP you don't have it.

Your mindset in EP should be that you are actively trying to fold rather that wondering just how loose you can open.

If you have HEM or PT3 filter starting hands by position and look at your winrate for AK-A9 KQ,-KT PP AA-TT and PP TT-22. look at the winrates for EP and you should get some idea of whats worth playing and what is not.

Stu, KQo is a 1.02BB/100 winner for me UTG at 10 and 25nl 6max.
Granted small sample and all that and + i only have 62% VI$P with it from that postion but at micro stacks you can easily open with hands like KQo if u have some clue as to how to play postflop.

Also when u open UTG at 6max you do realize u will be IP postion postflop alot?
Only 3people have postion on u and u have postion on 2 so if u table selected probarly the 3people behind u should be Nits/bad tags and the people on your right should be fish so u should be IP alot.

I tend to play 6 player tables quite tight in early position mainly because others seem to think that they can play loose. I would stick to hands like any pair, AT upwards and perhaps from J10s upwards as suited connectors.

It sort of depends. 6 max is notorious for buttons playing a wide range and or 3-betting preflop.

I certainly dont think your default should to be to open KQo.

Under the right circumstances any play is OK. The 62% V$IP is interesting, what deterred you from playing it 40% of the time? That may be the difference from a 1BB/100 win with KQo UTG and a 1BB/100 loss with KQo.

I think from the way the OP worded the original question, OP is looking for a starting range to play 100% of the time.

Well exactly what u said.
High 3bet from players on my left, 2 or more players on my left with 30-40+ V$IP,very aggresive players postflop on my left, first few orbits ect.
But all thouse things aint a issue if i table select probarly, witch i unfortunetly i dont allways do .
