Questions about MTing and BR
I want to start playing ring games more and was thinking about multi-tabling, but Im not quite sure if I am properly rolled for it and how I should approach it.
I currently have a $40 BR on PokerStars
and plan on starting with 2nl. Using the 5% BRM rule, I can buy-in for $2. This allows me 20 buy-ins, which is perfect if I single table. But is $40 a big enough BR to multi-table with? I dont plan on doing too many tables, maybe 2 or 3 at max, but my main concern is how much of my BR am I going to putting on the table at one time.
Say I sit at 3 tables with $2 buy-ins each, thats putting 15% of my BR at risk, but sitting with 100BBs gives me enough room to maneuver at the tables and a larger return in profits. Or should I buy in for less for $1 buy-in each table, which is only about 7% of my BR, however Im really limiting myself by sitting down with only 50BBs. So, do I risk a larger percentage of my BR for more maneuverability and possibly more profits on big hands, or do I play it safe with a smaller buy-in, but Im forced to play pretty tight, dont have as much maneuverability, and possibly less profit?
Or is my BR just way too small to multi-table with and I should focus on single tabling for now? And if so, what is a good starting BR to MT with?
