I have this problem and I have this question I need some of you to answer with your opinion or experience. I been watching the pro players on pokertube a lot here lately on facebook, and I have started trying to play like them at my level and I know that is stupid, because it has caused me to play more hands I would not usually play, and to try and do more bluffing, which can't be don't at my level most of the time. About the only time I do much bluffing is in a tourny, but not very much there. I posted about my 14 day down swing and I think this has a lot to do with it. Am I going to have to learn my game all over again? I can't seem to be able to get this crap out of my head.

u got to find your own game not someone elses that is the first step.

Than as you move up into people and things you have to adjust and evolve to new levels. Each level is different is a fact to me of poker.

First step is start believing in self.

Set your goals whether realistic or not. Ask yourself the hard questions what do you expect and what do you want out of poker?

There really isnt shortcuts as have said is guys like moneymaker and raymer that god gave the lotto to but would like to know their finances myself:)

Have seen guys PERSONAL FRIENDS !! who have made a lot of money a million and be broke three years later.

So even paying your dues grinding to top isnt the end is what I am saying.

I believe I am one of the better poker players in the world I always have and feel a destiny calling if can live through my medical issues etc..

Yet have been extremely successful in past and did it for years.

I have never won a big tournament have won seats though major events. But never knocked off a 45k win much less winning a million lol.

Yet have dreampt it since was a kid. I have had dreams of back to back wsop wins. Is that deep in my dna lol. I dont know with my mental issues of blood oxygen its in the cards but why cant I have a raymer day? Or seven days.

I have truly done everything else won two day tournaments. Never longer but made me believe could do anything with this.

I still believe just quit for a long time for other pursuits than health. Also scare of US govt if they came after me after a big win online or whatever?

That is a concern but for me and you? Honestly? We have absolutely NOTHING much to lose but time:)

Yes, you're right, a lot of professionals (Daniel Negreanu,Eugene Katchalov, Fill Helmut, Phil Ivey,Gus Hansen, Ivan Demidov and other) are bluffing. After bluffing is an integral part of poker. You need to master certain skills -

I call it TV poker. People minimum raise preflop everytime and I love to go against the air blowers. They watch these pros do it on TV and think everyone will fold. Dont go against your grain man and everything will be fine.

I believe that players tend to be more aggressive, and therefore bluff more in higher stakes. The pros usually play high stakes. So, the aggression will probably not work as well in lower stakes, as players are probably not as afraid to call. I'm not saying that you shouldn't have aggression in your game, but you should use it at the right times. I recommend analyzing your opponents to see how tight, loose, passive, aggressive they are.

freerolling is easy honestly you got to be patient I doubt I bluff in first hour more then two times a day in first hour and six more second hour per 10 events.

I know you have seen me with stacks I pick on weaker players know they have marginal hands are too aggressive etc.. take good notes lol best advice ive ever heard is cannot win a tournament in first two hours.

As a field of players lessens the play is generally better that is when you can pull your bluffs and make moves.

Really good players will fold and be patient till money often unless your board makes no sense etc..

you have built an image by this time though and changing gears really tricks a lot of people

Thanks you all for the replies and advice. This morning I made a change. For one, I played early. I maybe playing when I'm tired, and get the "don't give a shit attitude" Also, I'm trying to go back to my game and not play with all this other stuff in my mind. It work for today. Don't know about tomorrow. Going to post 2 links here of my wins this morning. In the 1st one I got back just a little over my buy in, but done alright in the 2nd one.

I mean it is ok to try to model your play after professionals, or stuff on the pokertube, butultimately you have to do what you feel comfartable doing.. It is amazing, I am so aggressive in tournaments, that when i do fold and would have won, I think why do I do it at the wrong times... Good luck, and do what is right for you..

there you go brother:) great job

p.s. I think the best tourney is 3 am sunrise est on flush it has generally 50 to 57 people and is I believe a 500 guar for 3.30 cents hope that is right and pays 25 peeps.

I have played twice ran kk to aa second time forgot the first lol.

I didnt last long but had hands couldnt fold know that much.

Full flush has flat out been my nemesis so far.

Funny thing? As said think is weakest of the US rooms and know am gonna win and win big cause know a ton of pllayers already just need some better luck or to be more patient lol with my buy ins haha.

Funny thing have tried to grind all day twice now and come out even haha.

So yep my nemesis swear am down 100 in winnings already haha.

Is what it is will get better it happens:)

It's generally counter-productive to try to make plays like big name players do. They have much more experience and knowledge, which means that even when they do something that doesn't work out, they have better reasons than because they saw someone else make a seemingly similar play. Also, good players are probably a lot better than you (or me) at adjusting their play according to their opponents. So, a play you saw may only have been made because it was against a certain type of opponent. Unless you can differentiate opponents similarly well, you're likely to try it against types who aren't suitable targets, not just the ones who are.

Yeah I was making some real stupid moves that are just not like me. Don't know what got into me. Guess I thought I could do like them and win like them and all the time over looking the fact that they lose by making the wrong moves too.

Well things are turning around I think. This is another cash in the same tourny as yesterday. Got 2nd today

not sure you have ever heard me say this but to me poker for my wins is at times like tiger woods in that for certain events he sees the field better hits the right spots etc..

I feel that way on certain events. Is events I just money. Is events I win etc.. over and over and over than are all the others. I find it interesting certain events just like me lol
