I have a big question. I have a $26.00 bankroll on America's Cardroom. I struggle with microstakes cash games (.01/.2 cent), good at freerolls, and remember a long time ago my uncle noted that he thinks I would be a better tournament than cash player. I tried cash games because they have very little variance but I see a lot of swings and see myself chasing alot. But when I play freerolls I make it deep most of the time but am worried about bigger swings playing tournaments and afraid of busting my roll because of articles I have read. What should I do? With cash games my entire winnings can go down the drain in seconds. With tournaments I risk slowly losing my whole roll. What should I do?

Sincerely, rulist1

Try both. And you will understand what you like more.

Single table SNG's are a good way to slowly build your roll.

ACR have singles room starting with 1,65 USD. For 6 or 9 players. Turbo and regulars. I'm building my bankroll there this way. Yet I just have 10USD, but going up and down and increasing.

Just play freerolls and the cheapest tournaments u can find. The competition on the single table Sit-N-Crush is not worth it. ACR has $0.50 $1,000 guaranteed on Mondays.

Try all kinds of games. When you gain enough experience, you will understand what kind of game you prefer.

You said that you find yourself chasing a lot in cash games. One of the things that I like about cash games is that you don't have to chase. There's no pressure from increasing blinds to play unless you really like your cards, position and overall situation. You can play tight (which is what I generally do) and barring some really unreasonable variance, can become a consistent winner.

You should choose what you love to play and master it. Money will come.

Once I'm in this poker room is not bad got started, won in a Freeroll a few bucks and started to play the jackpot SNG, stuffed $30 and then went to the cash stud8 at stakes of $1-2, got her up to 150 and the next day there all the same and left.

I think you should try both tournaments and cash, there really will know to spend more time and effort, I am dealing with cash and left me relatively good luck with everything

If you wanna learn, play with better players than you and it will cost expensive.
If you wanna win, play with worst players than you and you'll get money.

you cant lose a 26.00 $ bankroll in seconds at 1-2 cent rng tables with proper bankroll management-my advice would be none I cant tell you something you have to figure out yourself. find which one you like better,i myself like them both rng tables don't require hours on end to play,if I have an afternoon or evening to spare il play an mtt,it just comes down to how much of my free time I want to designate to poker playing, you can lose a lot of cash fast at rng tables , so bankroll has some influence on what I play as well

play in cheap tournaments and see if how far you get compared to freerolls. also take some statistic notes from your freeroll(how much you cash) so you can see if your percentage drops in money tournament. if not, try to improve at cash. dunno what to say bout sit&go

Thank you all for your input it will help me dramatically as I try and see which path to go. I consistently cash in over half of the freerolls I play. Would it be a good inference to continue to play the freerolls and then try and stack up at the smallest limit ring games?

In my opinion it'll be logical if you switch from freerolls to cheap MTTs.
Freerolls are sometimes harder to win than MTTs.
Cash games demands rather different (and more) skills than tourneys.

if you have skills, Nl2 is the correct choice.

26 dollars = 13 buyin, for the reason taht NL2 at ACR as I know have a lot of fish.

you could maintain a wining rate about 12bb/100
and very small chance to bust your 13 buyin bankroll

and if you bring in about 40bb which is 0.8

you have 32.5 buyin, even harder to bust it.

so just ask are you a player with enough edge?

good luck
