My question isn't about 3x or 4x preflop or even 5x preflop.....its when people open preflop to 10x or higher that just doesn't make much sense, especially in early rounds with no antes and low blinds.

What type of read can you get from this? At this point I just fold assuming its a big bet trying to get a fishy player to come over the top with a big re raise.
What got me pondering this morning is I had a player with a VP 47 and PFR 17 that opened with a 10x raise in the first level and no ante from early position. With those stats am I stabbing with a KJ from late position and an early big stack of 120BB? I ask because after seeing a heads up flop I would have had a set of Jacks, although that doesn't happen enough to say so, is there merit to flat in this spot?

What do you do with AA UTG? Some would go all in and everyone folds, so he gets very little chips. I think a 10 bet would be about right for that situation. He is trying to get most of the weaker players to fold, and get as much value out of his hand as possible. Maybe other players would call that bet with KJ, but I would not. Maybe some of the others can say if you should or not. The price is very high if you don't hit you lose your chips and have to fold, and then say you hit either card. Wow then you are stuck. Remember there is no way for anyone to know what cards are coming. It's gambling.

so sounds like I should continue to play the way I have.
