my first post... hi all

I was at a friends wedding in Dom Rep.
Playing poker and board ended up with quad Aces. Really not joking.
I had a 10 and opponent had a King. He was super annoyed he didnt win with higher kicker.
I, of course , was happy to split.
Always wondered if there is an official ruling on this. I can see that quads with a kicker doesnt really make sense but hand is also 5 cards?

I suppose the board was KsAdAc As Ah
your hand is T9s
his hand is KQo
In this situation, both have the same kicker.
Otherwise, the K kicker has the best hand or the casino uses the internal rules.

+1 But of course this is assuming Texas Holdem Poker. Other variants have different rules and play different numbers of cards. Omaha, 5-card draw, Razz, 7-card Stud and others are popular. Personally, I know little more than the names as I stick to No Limit Texas Holdem Poker myself.

In this form of poker we try to make the best 5-card hand utilizing any combination of the community cards and our hole cards (some variants have rules concerning one or the other). If you both share the same 4 of a kind hand and same kicker (5th card) then you chop the pot as noted; good times to have a Ten here isn't it? :)
