To protect or not?
If you are sitting in the big blind you are sitting in a late position and the choice is simple. If the pot is unraised your bet is already in the pot and you bet according to your hole cards,
Many players sitting in the small blind think that since they have half the money in the pot they must bet, even if they have a nothing hand, This is a sure way to go broke. Sure you are in a late position but value your hand the same way. Remember you are also first to play after the flop.

After I start betting with hand at the beginning of tournaments in late positions and SB, I get more chips to the middle phase, just got to improve now to steal more blinds and become more aggressive at this phase and late.

great advice for HUD users... just watch when your trying to defend yes your right the only time BB has position is when its BB vs SB and yes you should be more aggressive but make sure the antes and blinds are high enough that make the SB bet into u. Dont go jamming everytime it come SB vs BB

Hello,
Would be better if you will protect sometimes your blinds anyway you should look at the person as a lot of peoples said how much he trying to steal the blinds.
Depends of situation :)
Good luck to you!

This is an interesting situation in poker. Many of the greatest heads up players in the world have come to interesting and varying solutions. If I'm not mistaken Issac Haxton had a strategy he tested of always limping from the small blind as an unexploitable play preflop. A great book I have read on heads up play that dives into this much deeper is Collin Moshmans "Heads Up No Limit Holdem".

Personally I vary my style of play based on the BB, stacks and stage of the tournament. If I know the BB is tight and an average to short stack and I'm say 15bb or less I am generally all in on a very wide range. I like open limping with deeper stacks more generally.

I get addicted to defend the Blinds but the things are not going very well:

I Only defend the blinds if anyone raises, and they Limp: Or the Hand i get it (Off course)
