Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and poker in general ( in about two months). I've read a couple books and read online a lot. Anyhow I was playing wsop daily Freeroll. I made it to the top 30, there wasn't a lot of pushing all in or any crazy moves. I had a large stack 14,000 everyone else fold except one(big stack). I had KQ not suited. I raised 580 the blind was 240, big stack called. The flop read 6,Q,Q well I thought I made the big time, I checked and he checked. The big stack was in the top three with like 45,000 chips I pegged him for a tight player but he checked to the flop so I didn't think he would have it! I went all in after this and he came out with AQ. Where did I go wrong? It was a free roll strategy. I would normally push all in. Concerns?

I will wrights and wrights about DONT USE SLOW PLAY
You know, how often this type of game bit players with AA, AK, i mean dominate your hand on late stage ( exactly river )

Problem is - you give not cost card to opponent. In the other hand, you can bet a little to see what he will do. If raise - he had stronger then your cards. If call with afterthought - he had something mediocre

Should've bet the flop hard and see his reaction, you have him tagged as a tight player so AQ would probably be near the bottom of his range. The problem with hitting trips there is there are hands that will beat you, not many granted but they are there, AQ obviously, 66, Q6 giving a free card on the flop only raises the chances for your opponent to get a card that will have you beaten, if for example a 10 comes and he's sitting with 1010. If you're gonna shove, the flop would be the best time to do it, in this instance he would've called anyway and the result would be the same, unlucky to run into AQ there.

AQ is not a hand your opponent will have most of the times in these kind of situations. Most of the times you will have the best hand there and some tight players that have AA KK or JJ in their range would continue if you bet on the flop , so you should bet to gain value. In this case I don't think you could find a fold there....
The bet on the turn though is a disaster... betting 13,5k in a 1k pot is something you should avoid...

This is a good call for you going forward. I think premature shoves to be the donkiest of plays out there. I love watching or calling a donkey shove and seeing them getting beat by the unexpected better hand.

The other day player limps with AA, I'm on the BB with 24o. I check. Flop comes 2s-10h-4c. Villian checks. I raise a little, he shoves, I call. Turn and river is a blank. I win LOL.

You raised and bated opponent. He was not very strong cards. And get three cards on the flop opponent cheated and lured you into a trap. It is also necessary to foresee.

You cant do anything about it since from the start, you are already being dominated.

You have to pay him off because the hand is too good to fold.

Love it when that happen's. Won twice when UTG limps with AA and I got to check trash on the BB :D
