hi all
when are you 'priced in' to call with ATC.
is it a pot odds thing
or icm or both or neither
i'm sure i've heard commentaters saying something like
"he is getting the right price to call with ATC"
even when the pot odds are'nt there
any examples ?
thanks

At the basic level, priced in means you have pot odds to call. But keep in mind that it's not always be completely straightforward. As one example, when you see a TV hand, the player may be priced in against the opener's range - thus the commentary - but not against the actual holding.

Another possible factor is the probability of facing additional bets beyond the current one. It's often incorrect to assume you'll get to see the river without putting more in the pot.

I think an example in the context you've used would be:

Blinds 100/200
UTG+1 raises to 400
UTG+@ calls
MP calls
CO calls
SB calls

BB is priced in to call w ATC

I have to disagree with this.

depending on stack sizes, calling with ATC is generally pretty bad.

Obv. if you have something like 82o, sure its questionable.

But c'mon, getting 10:1? What more do you need?

explain why u disagree plz

If you have a real crap hand like 27o you basicly need to hit the flop hard.
The chance of hitting 2-pair+ is about 3%, and even if you hit you cant feel too comfortable. I mean you will be up against 5 opponents, and someone might easily have hit a bigger 2-pair, or something else.
Plus you will be playing your hand out of position.
