Do you think it's important to raise pre-flop when you have good cards? Why?

Yes, this is because you want to get maximum value. Doing this will build the pot, which is more profitable than limping in. Also, when holding high pocket pairs (Qs, Ks, As) calling and seeing the flop, the value of your hand can deteriorate. So, it's best to raise and 4-bet/5-bet all in when possible when holding these top tier hands.

You may not raise pre-flop if you think this will help you to collect more money further in round. For example if you have AA and aggressive player after. All depends of situation.

Aside from value as mentioned above, we want to weed out crap hands that might luckily hit the flop.

TOTALY AGREE , you limp KK and BB have 3 8 , and flop comes 8 3 J , and you are in big big trouble, if you raise preflop BB with 38 will be fold. Thats simple :icon_salu

Raising will get most of the trash holdings to fold, you don't want too many people in the pot if you have AA because AA diminishes when there are too many people in the pot.

I emphasize that I do not want to give a good small plates AK, raise my hand if you throw away the small plates but if not you better bet if you throw it away because you will rarely win :D:D
