Hi all,
Just like to here what your standard bet is pre flop. Mine was standard 3x bb but found alot of time had chain of loose calls (online mircos) so raise 5xbb find it helps reduce the callers.

I'm quite liking 3.5x at the moment.

5x Is that not really high? I mean what if you raise 5x get 2 callers miss the flop, then how big can your cbet really be?

You have a good point but at 4nl find get far to many callers with just the standard 3x bb. Bad table selection i suppose

Yet again is this not what you want? Don't you want to be on a looser table? Since your speaking in terms of cash bigger bets preflop will still get you callers preflop, but when you do hit you'll win more money...

I thought you meant for tournaments where a bigger raise preflop will=more callers and bigger problems post flop

All opponents are not the same, which means that getting multiple callers isn't the same depending on the situations. For a relatively simple example, let's assume two callers. Would you rather be in position vs. two who play flop or drop, or OOP vs two who are prone to bet if you check and who are also known to float?

It just depends on the game. I played a charity tournament event last weekend and went 5x with AA - EVERYONE called me - no exception. I adjusted - hell I had to. AA is great but against 8 opponents?!?!?!

They players at the final table were much more reasonable.

I bet about 3x most times. I do not play to many hands unless I am in late position.
