Hello everyone,

First, english is not my first language so i hope i will be clear enough to be answered...
I'm new to poker and i try to read a lot from the srategy section of this site. At this time, i wrote down what i want to be my range but i don't understand clearly what is :
R<2 or C>4 in the pot odds chart ("odds for dummies" section).

Good luck to you all !

Thank U 4 Posting.

R =Raise / R<1 = Raise if first to act if no other player has limped.

C= Call / C>2 = Call if at least 2 players will be in pot with you.

Hope this helps.

I'm trying to make myself a kind of rulebook which answer to :
"What to do with theese cards in this position in this situation ?" to at least avoid stupid mistakes, i hope i will learn to adapt by playing more and more hands !

Thank U 4 Responding.

A quick tip to accelerate the learning process.

Ask yourself Why? Why am I not reraising A9 off suit versus a raiser in early position?

Why would I fold A6 but call A5?

For each and every Raise Call Fold in the chart take the time to ask why?

When we do that we learn to think of hand ranges which is the next step.

A hand range in the A9 example is, our villains could be raising AA AK AQ AJ A10 KK QQ JJ 1010 etc that is the why of, we do not 3 bet A9

Hope this helps.

Hi

Would you mind please further clarifying the poker odds Chart and the Raise conditions?

1)Firstly, am I correct in saying the Poker Odds Chart applies to Pre-Flop situations?

2)Looking at the Poker Odds Chart, if I am holding a pair of 9's and no-one has raised yet (NR), the chart indicates "R<2" regardless of what position I am sitting in - what does "R<2" actually mean?

Many thanks!
