There was some discussion of cardschat actually hosting the videos at one point-- is this going on?

If so, how do you do it? Perhaps add it to the 'How to' thread?

Or does the video have to already be somewhere else (ex. youtube), and then cardschat just somehow puts 'tags' around it, and opens it without going to the source site (?)

Sorry for the computer illiteracy...

Good news & bad news:

Good news is all you have to do to upload a video from your hard drive is attach it to a post like you do now for a pic.

Bad news is that I tried it extensively the other day and it continually failed. It would be in upload mode for 15 minutes and then would show something like "Post not found" and "Not Authorized".

Feel free to try it yourself, but be prepared to possibly have some time wasted if it doesn't work. Maybe I'll let Nick know about it and he could check on that feature.

Interesting Mike. We've tested it a few times and it worked fine. What file type was it? How big?

(P.S. If you want to email me the video that would be helpful)

So about how many hands is "52.16 MB" (based, say, on the cc upcard vids)?

I was thinking of posting a vid of my OFC win (337 hands) prior to the upcoming tournament on UB, so y'all can see how it's done.

It all depends on how you recorded the video. The settings for the audio & video rates matter, as does the screen size.

For reference, I use the lowest possible audio & video settings AND I shrink my capture area as small as possible while still keeping everything clear enough to decipher. When I do all that, I get about 1.5-2 MB per minute for an AVI file. In comparison, one of Dbitel's videos was 163 MB and only 35 mins long. That's about 4.6 MB per minute, most likely due to his using higher quality settings and/or the fact that he had to record the whole screen area while 4-tabling. It's definitely worth playing around with your settings to get just the right quality versus size ratio. (or I can look up my settings & share them)

As far as hands, you know it depends on the action, etc. But I'd say the average for online poker in general is 1 hand per minute or 60 per hour.
