I was chatting with Phil Gorden on line and found out another weak part of my game. He was saying if your on the button and everyone else folds to you or if noone raises. You should put in a raise with almost any two cards. I've tried this and it works like a charm. I have taken down pots with cards like 23,72 and 35. He was emphasizing how important position is. I now definitely believe him.

Yeah that is good advice. But if i have good cards and the blinds are high i like to check it and let the villian try to bluff it. But ya most of the time that is the best to do

I think since the blinds have no choise in investing their blinds it normally seems like and most people advise to steel the blinds with a raise, in reality you need to have some feel for the people behind the blinds and what type of players they have been because you can easily be dominated if you have junk cards and they call, also if you continually bet that way at the same table most people can see very quickly what you are doing and start calling more often. Position can help you win many hands, you can even win hands by recognising other players who are playing position and catch the. Fulltilt had a good acadamy lesson on it and I'm sure someone here has written more on that since it is a wide subject. It is a very powerfull weapon.

I agree 100% in an unopened pot action folded to you. Being in position you should always raise with any 2 cards and steal the blinds. Just becareful when you get popped and you don't have a strong hand. ;)

I am confused about position realy don't understand it. which is probaly my worst part of my game right now.
Position is the last person to act in a betting round. Your in the CO or BTN you have position on everybody on the table which allows you to gather information on players gauge their hand ranges etc. And to make plays on later streets also to let your hand improve as well.

Poker is a game of incomplete information, acting last gives you the maximum amout of information before you act.

yeah, is much harder to play againts a player that tells the action after you, because he can read your actions and play based on them, and not on his cards
