Just curious if anyone else signed up and registered for this.

Additionally, you may also get tickets to participate in some of their tournaments.

Been reading up on their online lessons for SNG and MTT and some of the information was pretty useful. Some of it worked during a game and some were just way off the mark. Granted, it isn't a one size fits all kind of course because not every player plays the same generic way.

Not to sound like I'm promoting or advertising the site (which I'm not, just thought I'd share with all other newbie poker players out there like me), but maybe it can help other members out there.

One last thing, they've got tests for each course. If you fail, you have to wait 6hrs before you can re-take the test. It seems that if you pass some of it, you become eligible for other Poker School Online tournaments on PS.

So I'm still stuck on the SNG course, failed by 1%, and forced to re-read everything and wait for a couple more hours before I can re-take the test. :p

That's great that you passed the tests! I don't mean to offend, took me some time to figure out your phrasing but I can understand that maybe English is not your first language :)

My mistake is I tend to speed-read and then realised that I missed out on a couple of things (or as I realise now, a lot of things). I'm going to read and re-read even without taking the test yet.

It's a pretty decent site to learn and thing or two from but I wouldn't recommend the daily league freerolls. Prizepool in each one is only $10 with 1st getting about $4. Oh yeah it usually fills up with over 10,000 players in it as it does not require password. Ofcourse if you have no way to deposit, then by all means go for it, but be prepared to grind and min cash for $.10 a lot.

It was discussed here on CC before, but you're missing the point of PSO league. It's not about these 10$, it's about monthly leaderboard and if you're good, you can get some decent cash out of it. Plus they have Big Bang 5k freerolls http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/articles/The-Big-Bang That's not bad at all.

Thanks for the feedback everyone :)

I agree it's a good place to learn the basics of poker (basics? what basics!) and it taught me a lot about bet-sizing (because I am honestly crap at that) and the need for c-betting sometimes even when you've missed everything and the flop is as blank as a banana to your cards.

It helps give additional (though maybe a bit generic still) stats on my game when I'm in one of the tourneys. Have only been in 4 and still working to make it past level 4 blinds (that's how much of a noob I am in tourneys).

Poker school online

Hi,

I regitered for poker school online at PS and it's a great tool to learn how to play long tournamants against many players. Usually there are 5k players or even more, so it's a great opportunity to practise and also to win some nice benefits as real money and points in the leaderboard rank.

Anything created to help newbies is a good thing... I took the courses so I could play the pokerstars School Freerolls but playing a League Based Freeroll with 10,000 entrants is not going to allow you to play in the manner that the school educates you.

Pokerstar School has great information about the game and it gives you sometimes some tickets, but you have to be patient to learn and win those tickets

Poker school is so good to get experience, you can get great information and you can win money with the open league, and also get money with the open school freerolls , that's a good place to begin with the world of poker
