I recently decided to start playing online poker again.
I have to make some money to pay college etc.
I have like 40$ to deposit , maybe 20$ more.

Anyway , my question to you is what should I play? Multi table tournaments , SNG ( 6 max with buyin of 1.5$ to 7$ ) or some cash games?

Year ago I played sng and micro cash games blinds 0.01/0.02$ and I played on 5-6 tables cash games and didn't earn much money I mean you can't earn much with 2$ max buyin. I deposited around 50$ and due many hours of cash games I ended up loosing somewhere around 30$ and climbed back up wining some sng 6 max buyin 1.5$. I played few sng's and won back money I lost in cash games.

And because I was so fascinated by online poker when i started to play, I couldn't stop playing , I played for 3 days straight , no sleep then I ended up loosing all my money and I haven't played online poker since then..

I know that it's a mistake to play poker so tired and of course I ended up loosing that much money , but it was my begginer mistake , won't happen again.

Anyway what should I play to earn some money sidewards

cmon you cant ask other people which kind of games should YOU play. Noone knows you better than you. Play where did you feel more comfortable and where you were more succesfull. Also I recommend to invest some time into studying game.

I am studying the game in my free time. I won't make another mistake of just going in , not knowing strategies , odds etc...
I'm just asking where do you think I could make some money and not loose much..

If you are starting with smaller bankroll and you are affraid you could easily lost it, for good start I would reccomend some DoN SNGs. I think you have less variance there compared to MTTs or cashgame. But thats just my opinion.

by my opinion, dont ever play 0,1-0,2 tables, just play sngs and mtts up to $1, and for the beginning you have easy mtt at PS for $0,1 at 21 or 22 CET with $50 added (i have forgetten the name of the MTT)

I would play fifty fifty minimum buyin for you to lose less.

Studying would be appropriate for live games while online calls for experience.

First dont assume you will make money only very small percentage actually do
Play games you are best at or where games are the weakest
Play within a bankroll

If you have $40 or $60 max then ok to play 1c/2c if you are a cash player or $1 SNGs/$1.50SNGs if you prefer SNGs/ Small MTTS

The small cash games you should be careful with, most people will take chances a lot more cause its only a dollar. The higher up you go you get more serious players, or the ones that go all in with pairs or high cards, so you know what they have. Maybe try sng's and practice putting players on hands, even if you are not in a hand. Its a great skill to have. Big tournaments require duration but if you are disciplined and play good spots and good hands you should usually cash.

The first thing to do is not to repeat the same error twice : make a time management : exemple no more than 2 session of two hours per day.
Also bankroll management is very important for non-professionnal players.
For pokerstars, you will find differents players style, make attention and if you want to make money there , you should got a HUD to get all the required informations about your oppenements on tables.

Good luck over there:D

beginning playing poker

Start reading books from famous poker players that been around a long time, like Doyle Brunson. He is one of the best players. Practice on play money games until you get good. real money games will break your bank.;)

i did the same thing as you but i started with $500. i think until you get good play one game at a time. it is to hard to focus on more. you need to watch how your opponent play others. .50-$1. is a good place to make money. had a friend that made $80-$100 a day. all the advice here is good.

MTTS had the highest variances but then again you should only be playing the kind of game that suit you the most and comfortable with.

Sit and Go with 18 or 27 players is good option to see how you control your game with your bankroll.

Keep away from the $7.00 buy ins until you are rolled for them, stick to the $1 games.
