Anyone know of a good "Academy" for poker? Anyone who's used any kind of training and had good results would be great to hear from.

Please reply, I need to get my life together! Thanks to anyone who can help!

Poker Snowie has a free software download and 30 day free trial, all you have to provide is your first name and email address. No linking of credit cards or anything like that. You can see the EV of certain hands when you import your hand histories, and it also even has AI you can play against with real time suggestions on what to do in tricky spots. Might be worth checking out, I only used it for about 20 minutes, so I don't know that much about it.

I'm much more familiar with video training sites. They are just sites where you watch videos and listen to pros on concepts.
Sites like Run it Once, tournament poker edge, cardrunners etc

I was like that years back.
I read as much as i could from this CC forum and joined the freeroll club, so I could play with others that knew what they were doing.

Full Tilt use to have an Academy, not sure if its still about though.
Anyway they has tutorials and specific play methods, which helped me a lot too.

You can try to use such software as poker zion, ace poker drills and leak buster. Poker zion is a really good poker school so I think that's what you looking for. It provides training videos, written content, quizzes and etc.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going to check them all out! I came across WPTs beta poker courses. Has anyone tried those?

Poker Zion looks like a good site.. I'm geared toward cash games, so it looks like it focus' on cash games a lot. Is there tournament stuff in there as well?

Have you used all 3 of those sites? I'm wondering if you can elaborate a little more on what they are all about.

Can you do this in the USA?

Not sure you can try. I know US players can play, play money games and Home Games.

Cardschat have home games where you can win $$£ also alot of the pros on Twitch have homegames :)

I reckon you can becasue when you go to the site you use the same name as your pokerstars name but have a different password

I don't think USA players can play on PS, but I have not had any problem viewing their videos from their poker school. There are some good ones on playing micros and various strategy concepts.

I like looking at stuff on thepokerbank.com. The guy who made the site has anything from articles to videos on the basics (betting pre flop) and the advanced techniques (2-3 level thinking). Very good site I would recommend.
