Hey guys,

I've been playing poker ever since I was like 8 years old... more seriously since the Moneymaker boom in 2003 (like all of you I'm sure).

Every so often something happens that I'm able to take away some lessons from, and apply them to my poker game. Often, I blog about it.

I just put together a post in which I wrote about some tips I was reminded of when my water boiler broke down last week.

None of the tips are earth-shattering revelations, but perhaps the broken water boiler episode could act as a mnemonic device to internalize the lessons?

I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on it, especially since I actually mentioned Cardschat as a great place to get feedback on one's poker game :)

I mean no offence here but your thread made me smile a little.

Only because it reminded me a of some of those 'hip' preachers.

"Brothers and sisters, earlier today my boiler broke. You know, that reminds me so much of the life of our saviour....................."

Your link was an interesting, if slightly rambling, read.

Hey Henry,

No offense taken and sorry for any "rambling" I may have done. Glad it made you smile and that you enjoyed reading it.

If anything your reply made me smile - I couldn't be further from that as I'm an orthodox Jew living in Israel, lol

That said, plenty of our rabbis give sermons in the same manner - taking a "life lesson" from a seemingly mundane event. That methodology can actually be pretty inspiring sometimes :)

Happily I was able to extend the metaphor and put it into words.

Thanks again for reading sir,

Robbie
