Whichever you prefer. SnG's & Cash Games are both quite profitable. I also think its easier for new players to get good at sit & go's.

I think micro SnG's would be best if you are a fairly new player. To learn to beat them is pretty simple, mainly have to be a solid preflop player and you should see a profit in them. I started with $5 and went straight to the SnG's, have done well fo me so far. But this is just my opinion, maybe you should try them both? With a $50 BR you have a little room to mess around with them a little and see where you are comfortable.

Make that $40 dollars due to exchanger rate.

Well here we go I ended up depositing $40.70 today ..played for a bit and now it is at 47.19 but still down for the month as lost 15.02 early in the month.

Would one of you great CC'ers please tell me how to display the pokertracker graph in the post and I will post it. bankroll swinG positive 15.9%. That's good for today IMO.

Found Three leaks in my game after reviewing som Hand History. Learning from mistakes makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Stepping it up? Not with that little amount. I am grinding away until have 20 buy ins for the next level. $10 is the max buy in for the next evel .02/.05 =$200 so will be here for a bit.

Alowed to play per session at the moment $1 buy in and that's it check out the BRM (Bank Roll Management) threads!

Btw, you don't have to buy in for the max at any table, especially the 1c/2c ones or 2c/5c ones that allow you to buy in for 200 big blinds. Truthfully, I'd almost rather be 100 big blinds deep playing against idiots.

Thanks for that point. I am only buying in with the minimum at the moment wich is 50 BB. Playing power hands and good odds draws. Minimum variance if get shot down. Table selection is important using this technique but willing to take a little time to get my feet wet.

I started with $50 on pokerstars and have played almost 300 $1 45 player turbo sngs- I think this is the best option- I'm up to $200 (trying the $3 version now, but seem to have run out of luck!)

You can have swings in your bankroll (was down to $37 early on) and need to be able to cope with bad beats regularly!

Depends on what you are aiming for I guess- if its $1k in a week then cash games, if it's a bit of fun, whichever you enjoy, if its to grow a bankroll steadily and learn, then I'd say the turbo sngs are perfect...

$1 sng's are the easiest way to build a BR with $50 or less.

i would play Omaha sng's and just play tight solid poker. Dont bluff and value bet when you think you have the best hand. the reason why i would play omaha and the reason i do myself is because in omaha sng's people are just complet idiots. omaha hi and hi/lo are both filled with terrible playeres.

I think you should stay at the low stakes until you build your bankroll up then grad work your way up and if it seems that your luck is running out then take a break before playing another because I make the mistake of playing one after another and it does not work well at all so my advice to is to stay where your are winning also. GL to you!:)

I started with $50 and do a mix of $1 SNG's and 2NL ring games. That gives you about 50 buy-ins for the SnG's which should be plenty for the level of skill they contain.

$1 45 players SNGs are quite nice for a starter. The $0,5 $100 added MTTs do also work.

Had a big downswing to $10. Took some time to study and now am playing the 50c turbo 9 max STT.
first objective is to $20 The question is what bankroll would be best to switch to the $1 set?

Your original post is from 2008, so seems like you have been on a very extended break. I recommend starting with a bit more than just 10$, since even for playing 50c 9-mans you should ideally have a bankroll of at least 50 BIs for 9-man SnGs. So 25$ for 50c games and 50$ for 1$ games. With 10$ the risk of ruin is somewhat significant, but of course you can just pop another 10$ into the account, if you lose them, so its not a big deal. I will say though that up to the 2$ limit I prefer on-demand games, because the 9-mans have a really high rake. So with 10$ I would be playing the 25c on demand games. But really I would rather put some money into the account and start a bit higher with the 1$ on demand games.

Probably the wrong spot to start. But this will work. Got a ticket for one of the several small tournaments that got to a bigger event that I can't play .first was a twenty dollar ticket second was $5 it cost 12 c to get the two tickets. Busted out In the first, Had the lead in the second and gave ti up for the cash. So now have a $25 dollar roll. 50 BI for the 50 c tournaments. Read your post on bankroll management for SNGs and saw the 50 BI. so now rolled for the start.

Hi.
I think Sit & Go tournaments with buy-in 0.25 and 0.50 cents will suit you well. At least that's the calculation I would use.
Good luck.
