Hi Nick, Although your poker odds calculator is a great addition to the forum, it is flawed in two major aspects.

1. It does not take split pots into account.
Depending on the hands in question, this can sway the percentages by approx 4% and higher.
2. your sample sizes are waaaaaaay to small.
This is proven by the large variance in percentages when you run the same hand several times.

It sounds like it may be a problem with your computer? Not sure though.

Try downloading/redownloading Shockwave from here.

Nick worked a treat (after 3 tries lol). I think it maybe a process running on my PC. I switched off my antivirus and it worked and as my late mother said 'If it ain't broke don't fix it'

Thanks also for your response juiceeQ.

It's most likely to do with Shockwave if you can't view it.

ok, i got a bit further but now i'm even more confused:confused:

whenever i drag and drop the cards onto the table and then put 2 cards onto one of the chairs it just has 100% over that chair..

when i put cards in for a 2nd player it then compares the odds, but what i dont understand is that i would never see the other players hands during the game so how can this help me ?

sry for the noob questions:)

Never use it if you are good

I telling you now,the one time you are against a player who bluffs alot, and u see the percetages from you calulator and they are in your fav, u must know that(well in passsed experience) donkey's actually do get good hands, but seeing the odds in your fav and him being a loose player it makes your more likely to call his winning hand....I say go with your own poker knowledge and don't let what you probably all really know throw your true game off.
that is my take

jph6696, the odds calculator is to help you learn the odds and improve your own knowledge of the odds so you can use them instantly. The odds calculator is not something to rely on every time you play but something to help you get the knowledge so you dont need it. Also, odds are not the only thing that should affect your decisions.

i like people that use odds

i know that i play very risky sometimes. however i tend to knock out the "odds" players quite often.....i just think that too many people go on the "odds" and dont think.....hmmmm. what cards is this site going to pop up...... jetset especially is a place where the odds just dont matter!!!

You try to see all flops??So if the blinds arent raised you call it with 2,7?Or what about real money games? You will call the blind everytime?

i downloaded a free poker odds indicator off of download.com, works free with play money and also works in the royal vegas freerolls. keeps track off players and shows odds and evaluates the hand. nice thing to have

There is a calculator from the forum I used to be part of that I use regularly
It's not so much hand odds as much as it is the % chance of your hand winning based on the cards on the table and how many other people are playing. It has plenty of flaws I'm sure, but usually you can sense when your gut feeling should take priority over the calculator.

I strongly agree with this. It's good just to play with it in situations that nipped you in the butt so you can see if you just got bad luck or if you should have played it differently.

texas

I have texas calculatem, but I rarely uses it. It pretty good att showing the odds, but if u follow its advice promtly u loose....other players can read every move u make...I think its a good way to learn odds and think that most new player can have use of one. esspecially if they play limit holdem.

I play the players, but I usually use odds when I play live. However, I rely more on my instincts, it has worked fined for me.
