hello all, I recently joined Bovada and was having a few questions about poker. I watched a video on odds and how they can make you more money and win more hands. I just dont know what a good percent to go in on is. For example if there is a 24% percent chance of completing my flush, Do I go for it? What is a good percent chance to take? Thanks for the help.

You want to use this with pot odds and equity. Like the example that cards chat uses. Where the example is a guy bets $10 making the pot $100, then yes that's a profitable play because you're 10:1 on a play that says you'll hit your flush 25% of the time. That's why you see guys betting big on flops with a potential flush draw is they want to make the play unprofitable for guys on flush draws

Compare the odds of making your hand against the odds that the pot is offering you.

eg: if you have a flush draw on the flop, you are 2:1 against making it (you'll make it about 1/3 of the time) If you are getting better than 2:1 pot odds on your call, you will make money in the long run.
