Does anyone subscribe to any decent mags? I've got a few; WPT, Card Player, bluff, just ones I pick up from time to time. Trouble is, most newsagents dont carry Poker magazines, so I was going to subscribe to one instead. Its cheaper that way anyway.
Any suggestions which may be best? I play on Tilt and Stars...dont suppose any do private freerolls for those sites regularly? Seen a couple, not often though. Cheers.

I currently subscribe to Bluff. However, I probably won't renew my subscription. It's basically all advertisements with just a few articles. I think Bluff and CardPlayer are pretty similar in content. Never read WPT magazine, so can't really comment on that one.

I only subscribe to Bluff but might not re-new. Same problem with the others - too hard to read. They do stupid things like white ink on black, pictures on top of words...

arghhh - they all drive me crazy.

I think if you believe they add value for you, or are entertaining then try them out. Some of them have good intro deals. Personally, none of them are interesting to me.

One of the best I've seen is Poker Player Newspaper. Mike Caro is a featured columnist in every issue, and it always has interesting and informative articles. Not only about strategy but events as well. I came across it in my local casino; they always have free copies available to the players.

Many of the publications mentioned above are American. Since you are in the UK, try this one:

Poker Player UK

There is a good discount to subscribers and it is delivered swiftly and efficiently every month.

Perhaps subscribe/register online than no cost incurred? In addition to CardPlayer, Bluff, Poker Player Newspaper, & Poker Pro, I'm subscribed to Gaming Today which covers a bit more than just poker...there's a fee for unlimited access but I only browse the free info anyway.

You can also read Poker Player Newspaper online as well. No need to register either.

Like Egon I get this mag and with the discount mentioned it works out at approx £1 a month (£3 in shops). The strategy / learning sections are pretty good imo and whilst it has it's fair share of adverts (like all mags really) it's enerally an interesting read.

Nice, thanks all. Might try the Poker Player UK subscription.
I do love my freebies though....see if any of the others have any subscription incentives.

It was just a pity thar Poker Player's sister mag 'Inside Poker' was discontinued, as I rated that as the best available in the uk.

I also rate 'Card Player Europe' so assume that the us version would be same.

Card Player is pretty good and not that expensive. They don't sell at news stands, but if you get a subscription it's really not that expensive.
