You are going to play heads up, one game a day, and hope to double your money every day???
I don't think this is realistic, as one loss and you are back to the beginning. Even the very best poker player is going to loose one game sometime.
Poker is a game of small wins that build up over time. Sure, there are some people that win a MTT and take some serious cash, but also lots and lots who lose their buy-in again and again.

Yes, it is unfortunately unrealistic to expect to just play one game a day and just expect to win every time.
You are most definitely going to have losing games, losing sessions, losing week, and maybe even losing months.

You will also need a bankroll to handle these losses and need to follow good bankroll management too.

Also wanted to come back to this.

Poker is a long term game and you should NOT be sitting down at a poker table whether it be live or the virtual felts and have the thought process of "I'm going to win 'x' amount of money this session or this day"

We should not be thinking like this. When we sit at a table we should be focused on playing the game. Looking for spots, playing to the top of our ability, etc.

In fact having the mentality of I want or need to win 'x' amount of money can be damaging in two situations:

1.) Were down - Now were stuck in a mindset where we can't leave in till we are up. Doing this could lead to playing too long of sessions or playing sessions when we shouldn't for example if we are on tilt.

2.) Were up - If we are playing against player(s) that we have +EV over i.e we are better then, then stopping because we have hit our money target is -EV. The only reason we should stop playing against players that we are better then is if we are tired, hungry, or whatever keeps us from playing at the level that gives us a +EV edge over the player(s)

As I read your post, so far your BEST game had one person better than you even though the two of you were out of about 100. Where do you expect to find a player each day every day who is willing to lose 100 euro 1 on 1? Besides that, you need to have a LOT of luck to never lose any day even against a totally bad player.

I do not have the opportunity to play poker live. I live in rural areas and there are no people like me. And try to have the desire. I remember when I was in school, then played trynku-game similar to poker.

Never tried, but those are my 2 cents.

Don't try. Start trying when you are already loaded.

Most of the times, specially if you play some game that gives you 2-3k dollars a month playing optimal game at best (eg.: 1/2 NLHE multitabling 6 tables, 5-6 hours per day, 3 bb per hour/table). Your regular life won't sustain a single downswing, not to mention the stress level daily.

No one should try to make a living playing poker in a game/level that barely keep his life expenses. You would turn yourself into a slave of poker. While beautiful and exciting, the poker is the most cruel game ever. You don't want to be slave of no one, you want less to become a slave of something as cruel as poker.

I'd suggest to keep this as a hobby unless you have savings to keep up your life expenses for about 3 or 4 years, having a bankroll to play a game like 10/20 HUNL, and keep up with studying to mantain pro-level play, proper coaching and studying. You should just make a living of this if you have enough to take a break from poker whenever you feel like to. The pressure is inhuman when you make poker your primary source of incoming.

I would keep your day job and play the heads up game at night and see how you do first.

Your biggest win is 270 $ and u want to make a living playing poker?
If u want to become a pro poker player your biggest win should be a 5-figure number and you should've won a lot of tournaments before! Also u need AT LEAST 10.000 hrs of playing experience. Dont focus on winning a fixed amount too. You need to maximize ur winnings and minimize your losses. Making a living playing poker is really NOT THAT EASY! Especially heads-up! I strongly recommend playing poker as a hobby for the next few years untill u have a decent bankroll. Maybe then u can reconsider.

I love rooting for the underdog, and it isn't going to be easy. You need to see hundreds of thousands of hands and put in thousands of hours of poker to reach even close to the level of the pro's you know and love.

However, people on pokerstars have deposited $100 once only and are now millionaires. It's definately possible... Everyones gonna have their opinions but do your best!

Play 1000 tournaments or 100000 hands to have a realistic look at what you can expect in earn rate from poker.

Post back in the thread after you've been a significant and consistent winner over that sample to have a real conversation.

In short, you need to play a TON to know if you're a winning player, much less can consider going pro.

I wonder who the person is who will be choosing to 'play poker to be a loser/donater' . (guy chooses to login each day with intentions of playing 1 game & losing $100 each day)

OP, fwiw, at the $100 buyin level of HeadsUp sng's, you're going to be running into some players who've played 10's of Thousands of games & have studied for 1,000's of hours. You might want to consider a 'new plan'... just sayin'. (ie. play 100x $1 Sng each week & see if you can beat that level first)

Wow!!! I can't believe how many people on here do not believe in themselves. For a poker forum, I figured that their would be more poker players on here that would be giving good quality advice. I never saw myself working a typical 9 - 5, and gave poker a shot. Well, my story is a little deeper than that, but that is the gist of it. Before, I committed to poker full time, I must have studied poker, and poker strategy for six months, or so.

I did not check how old this post is, I bet it is an old one, and hopefully you have found massive success. My best advice to you is to be patient, and don't force your hands. You're not going to make all your money in one hand, but you could lose your entire bank roll on one bad play. And always keep learning
