I'd try to avoid playing any hands where distance between the 2 cards will not allow you to get a straight.

ie: K10 - OK
K8 - no go

just my quick analysis

Simply try to play only strong hands (AA,KK,QQ, AK, AQ, AJ suited) and i think you will be good

The best hands you will play, the less difficult decisions you will need to take.

Preflop you can play any hands at all. But you have to understand what to do with them on the later streets. It requires experience and skill. Beginners should play a more simple variants - pairs, suited aces, and suited connectors in the hope of getting a set, straight or flush.

Like all newcomers : Saw an Ace - go all-in..:) Start from "Pokerstarter school" there you can get basically knowledges about hands, games, position and others.

card 7, 2
8, 3
10, 2
10, 3
K and any card lower than 9
Q and any card lower than 8
J and any card lower than 7

I also avoid 8, 4...its a tricky hand to play suited or not....really only good with straights and decent for flushes if suited.

It all depends on how much BB u have and how many opponents you suspect to enter the pot. In heads-up K6o is good, in multiway pots K6o is trash

In my game the range of hands depends on the position at the table, from the stage of the tournament, from the game of opponents ... Sometimes using the weaknesses or unfortunate position of rivals you can play even the most garbage hands

For beginners avoid playing rags like in the range of 2 and a random card.

Also avoid Ace and a low second card, most likely your going to get out kicked.

The best advice I can give to beginners is play tight aggressive. Tight hand selection, aggressive when betting with a hand.

I agree playing a Tag style when new to poker, is your best bet til you gain experience.

Play with good hands, do not rush to bluff. You get into the game and feel the players, then you can bluff. And while you need to practice)

Avoid "junk" cards, are a pair of cards that have different pints and can not connect with stairs. These are the hands you should avoid, playing them is a chip loss. : o

avoid hands like Kj, K10,
be cautious with AJ,AQ,QJ(although this is my fav hand)

In the very begining of a live tournament , take your time, play tight and try to get reads on the other players at the table. If all the players at the table are super tight then you can open up your range. PLay suited connectors etc
