So a couple weeks ago I won a free coaching session with Krantz from DeucesCracked and it's the first real coaching session I've had. I'm pretty sure it's going to be more of a reviewing session rather than sweating, so I'm just wondering what all I should "bring with". I obviously have a bunch of hands marked to bring up and such but if there's anything you guys(or gals) think I should ask or questions on your own hands that you have, and I could try to post the answers here for ya.

It's going to be kind of funny though, going through 5NL with a nosebleed stakes pro...

Yea, I'm going to try to record it in Skype. We'll see how that works considering I have used Skype like 5 times before and never used the recording program that I have, so...

Wow. Let us know what he says about this in particular. I'd like to know how he defines play across levels. If he sees profiling to be less advantageous in the lower stakes because of the multitudes of competitors you are sure to face.

What a unique opportunity you have. Enjoy it and bring all the information you find interesting back with you!

Very interested, will be looking for follow ups. I've watched several of his vids w Fender Jaguar (TV star? I don't get to see all US programming?) - he's very entertaining in addition to being a sick player.

All done. Covered lots of stuff and I'm glad that I recorded it, otherwise I would have forgotten like 90% of it. It's off to bed right now, but I might go over what we talked about tomorrow.

Krantz, whitelime, flawless_victory, and Ansky had a show last fall on a US tv station called 2 Months, 2 Million(2M2MM) where they went to Vegas for the summer and tried making 2 million between the 4 of them.

Let him off easy Hamm. It's his first post.

But congrats man! Hopefully you got a lot out of it!

Mind if I ask how you won it?

Also, wanted to say 'thanks' for letting me know about DC's free week of videos. I watched them all week!

I have all of it recorded at home and I haven't been home since Wed. night.(had pool league last night and going down to a buddy's college tonight) so it won't be til probably Sunday before I get any specifics up.

We went over two of my hand histories, one that I posted in the April Cash game thread where I folded AA on a flop of KQK, and he agreed with my thinking in the hand and said that it was a tough spot, but overall it was a +EV move over time with 3 people to possibly act behind. Can't remember off hand what the other HH was.

Other than that we went over a couple hands that were posted in the DC forum.

We talked about his routine for playing. And that basically came down to he, for the most part, likes to treat it as a job. Unless it's an extremely juicy game, he really would try to play like 5 days a week between certain times. That way you are sticking to a schedule, not playing 1 hour here, 5 hours there, etc. He said it's hard to get into this though because at first, telling yourself that you're going to get up at 7:30am to start playing poker tends to be easily pushed off, especially when it comes to sleep.

I also asked about how he deals with tilt and the variance swings that comes with poker. He recommended Tommy Angelo's book and videos because Krantz actually got coaching from him for this exact reason because Tommy has a lot of great insight on it. He said he used to tilt terribly.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but once I get home on Sunday, I will replay the session and catch anything I missed. I didn't take any written notes the first time because I planned on doing that on the run-through.

HAHA, yea just drives me nuts when people post stuff that has nothing to do with a topic.

I actually won it through a poster design contest that DC had running on their forums. Something that had nothing to do with poker, but cool none the less. They asked for a 2M2MM sequel parody poster, and this is what I came up with...(just realized I spelled deucescracked wrong on the bottom, whoops)

I also got runner up for this one:

Still not working, says forbidden. If its in your google docs account you may need to login to see it so it might be better if you upload them to imageshack or somewhere similar...

wow, great opportunity.

I'm sure your game increased that much more. I'm very interested in what he had to say.

I don't think I really am. I'll try this again, they worked on DC this way.

Here's the runner up:
uc

And here was the winner:
uc

If that doesn't work let me know and I'll just put them on a hosting site and try again.
