poker coaches?

has anyone used a poker coach or anything like that before? i've seen a few sites and ads for coaches and i guess it seems like it makes sense. if you want to get better at something, find someone better than you to teach you. i feel that i would benefit from someone else looking at my game and helping to identify my leaks, but i'm not sure if it's worth paying a coach to do that for a few sessions. any thoughts?

tbh if you're not beating nl10 nl25 and loosing at nl50 nl100 nl200 you need a coach maybe. But again honestly why get a coach when you can make friends and get free help?

got pages of teaching poker. game where you swap hands and I discussed while there are open classes and live to keep learning. not got to pay anything. tikets get up to play for real money .. but you got money.

I'd work with other players + watch solid training videos from poker sites.

I think good coaches are a better value once you move up a few more levels. It's not that coaches can't help now, it's that the cost of hiring one is a lot versus the benefit the average player gets out of that (it has more to do with the average player's playing habits and long term dedication than coaching quality).

I think you only need a coach if you have a hectic schedule and money. There are many free stuffs here on the internet.

I believe its only you, to make your poker game better. After reading theories, then apply it thru practice- at live table and not online ofcourse.

good thoughts guys, at this point i'm only playing very small stakes, so it doesn't really make sense to go for a coach yet. i have been reading and watching stuff on the internet for a long time and so far that has been incredibly useful. i've mostly only been reading though, so maybe i'll start posting more on sites like this and putting up hand histories so people can evaluate my play.

Hiring a coach or coach your self.

I see the point of someone reviewing your play and make comments, someone you could ask questions about how to play and why the outcome wasn't as you expected.

That is why I am a member of Cardschat and I use that way.

The second thing is someone to ask critical question about moves you didn't really see any problems with.

That should be the reason for hiring a coach.

But what is the costs compared to expected profit and size of your tournament buy-in.

I think you can get really far by coaching yourself, when you reach the top level of own oaching. You have to valuate if it is profitable to get a coach.
