Hello Everyone,
I haven't played poker since 2007 and would like to come back to the game I love.

Can someone recommend some newer books to read on NLHE Tournament play? I remember back in 2005 I read Harrington on Hold Em and my game improved dramatically.

Are there any "Must Reads" that have come out while I stopped playing?

Thank you in Advance,

-Dan

What level was your game at when you stopped playing? The game hasn't changed the same amount al all levels. The higher the level, the more change you'll see compared to before. This impacts what you have to learn and how important it is to learn it.

Thank you for replying. I like to think I was intermediate-advanced.

Some people would say I was just intermediate

I agree.
But its NLHE chapter is very outdated when it comes todays NLHE games, especially online.

A couple of tournament oriented books that come to mind.
The Winning Tournament Poker one hand at a time series.
Colin Moshmans SNGs strategy and HU NLHE.

+1 the lower level games havent changed much. Seems to be the higher games especially cash have become a game of chicken 3 4 and 5 bets shoves with mediocre hands

Meh. For tournament play I'll recommend Jonathan Little's books (specifically, Secrets of Professional Tournament Poker volumes 1 and 2). I suspect they'll prove to be quite beneficial.

I agree. Nothing beats Super System by Doyle Brunson.

Harrington on Hold em is still the best I've read and is still relevant.

No Limit Hold em Theory and Practice (David Sklansky, Ed Miller). I'm pretty experienced of a player and this book is teaching me heaps. Best read.
