6 percent (about 1-in-20): Percentage of time that five community cards will give pocket suited cards a flush

Suited cards should just be ignored.
Everyone here knows this, just saying ....

The only time it should matter is if you stayed in with pocket suited b/c of their values (like 8d 9d or Ac Kc)
and then you manage to flop 2 more suited cards ....THEN... you might pay attention to suits...

35 percent (about 1-in-3): Percentage of time that you’ll make a flush on the turn or river if you have four cards to a flush after the flop

i agree it means almost nothing. the extra 6 percent is worth limping value (but not with huge blinds in an mtt). like an 89 off in i will not even limp, but 89s i will

No limit if your flush hits and you don't have the nut Ace, you stand to lose your whole stack. If the board has four of a suit, you are also risking your stack against the single Ace-rag. Good for drawing min bets or double blinds, but beyond that you need to fold.

I feel like in my past I have expected this suited connector thing to work out a lot more than it ever has. Sometimes I can't resist a hand like J 10s

It has been a big leak in my game because limping I am bound to face raises and I am pretty hell bent on not calling them OOP with hands like this.

There are more ways to make the straight with connectors too... I guess only late position ever so that I can at least make decisions the rest of the way with a little bit more information.
