Pocket JJ we love them and hate them I have flopped boats with em and quads and been payed nicely! Most of the time though time they are junk right. Question is how often are you getting bluffed with air? Flops like AA7 make you think that your either beat or way ahead, but what about multi way pots where the boards hits everyones range like q-A-4 or k-7-A what do you do? Do you bet out utg or call in position to set mine or simply fold and be done with it?

this is any cash game limit nl say 200-400 dollar buy in mostly evenish stacks

JJ has always been pretty good to me. But if someone is betting depending on my read on them I'm probably at least folding by the turn if not right on the flop.

On AQ4 or K7A type flops just x/f if more than 3 people in the pot. You can try cbetting into 2 opponents if they don't float a lot, and then giving up if they raise you / they call and you don't hit a good card on the turn.

I love to play jj a little slow and see the flop first. This is because they will lose most of the time.

If I get JJ and it goes to a multiway flop and two overcards come up on the board, there is no way I C-bet. I will try to get to see the turn and river as cheaply as possible, but I am not betting.

I try to flop a set , if not ... bye bye !!!

I m very carefull when I play JJ as over pair , and if there is a flop like AA7 I play it for one or two small bets , it depends on the foe .
If the flop is q-A-4 or k-7-A and multiway I would not bet but I would play it as cheap as possible to the turn if possible and then fold but most of the times I would just fold it on the flop if I had many others betting who would have me beaten ,

But it depends on my stack , on the betsize , how many are on the pot etc to see if it worth the risk to set a mine

In multiway pots with a bad board, with any action, take a deep breath and throw them away...

I was reading about this somewhere, that they are tricky and dangerous to play even they are highs. But from the things going these days, i could tell that they wins often even on the preflop when the opponent has AAs or KK's.
Ive saw some examples vs those two on the preflop and later pahse.
In the one i was holding the JJ's and my opponent had an AA's and ive burst all in on the preflop. I had a set of JJ on the flop. The second is the other day, one guy beated another with JJ's vs KK's with set on the turn.
So i dont think they are tricky everytime but they could be, as like any other combination.

I usually look to play them tight. If a flop is bad, and there are some big bets on flop, I probably take a deep breath and fold. If price is right, and can see turn and river cheap, I may call small bets to set mine or get to showdown cheap and see if opponent is over aggressive with something like pocket 9's or 10's.

Simple aggressive preflop not tinker and have a good read on your opponent and evaluate the flop since the party was hitting a set low

If nl 200-400 (not that i play thous limits  ) from what i've seen from streamers - no to often. If they sit on JJ on a bord AA7 they would usually fold beacuse most of the times villain will value bet rather than bluff.
Now up to nl10 (where i still play  ) this often becomes a c-bet bluff or 3 barrel bluff with KQso.

As i see the best way to play them isa strong raise in possition and if flop hits AA7 or similar fold if needed becuase you will often get called PRF with A2s and... well you know the drill

JJ is a wierd spot for me.

They are high and they are in your hands, but the way I see it there are still 16 other cards that can beat you if your opponent is lucky enough to pair his King in his K2o or his Queen in his Q9o and you don't make your set.I may be a bit negative toward pocket jacks because I have been knocked out of tourneys with the jacks and I have also lost some big cash game pots. But at the end of the day if you can see the flop at a decent price then maybe you'll get very lucky.

And I love this couple, just gently play with them. It all depends of course on the opponents, if it is more loose players, then with pocket JJ, even I can answer the all-in. By the way, rarely with them when losing.

In the words of Daniel Negreanu, you are either way behind or only slightly ahead with pocket jacks so be careful how you play them, and if it's a multi way pot and an Ace is on the board you can just about gurantee that someone at that table has an Ace in their hand because today's players love to play almost any Ax hand.
