It depends on stack sizes. But as a general rule 10s plus. Pocket 4s are generally mucked for me.

others had between 1500 and 2500.

Why limp isnt the option, why dont you see a flop if it is cheap, if someone raise you can easily fold but if you flop a set you can get lot of chips if someone flops a top pair, from a dry board of course...
+1 Agreed. The bias among players is circumstantial to the terms denoted.It's fairly situational, which means that I'd choose different actions depending on the circumstances. For example, limping into weak, passive opponents isn't the same as doing so into aggressive ones. It's also different limping into looser vs tighter players. Taking these factors and others into account, it can be a better choice overall to fold or to open-raise.
