For the most part slow playing gets you less money in the long run. With A/A, ideally you want to get as much money as you can in pre-flop while getting only one or two callers.
Pocket Aces is only one pair, and most people aren't going to put in a lot of money with one pair. If they have an overpair on the flop you might get a big pot, but if that's the case then they would have called a raise pre-flop.
With pocket Aces you'll win a lot of small pots and lose a lot of big ones.
I'm not saying that slow playing is always bad. If people are being aggressive then you can slow play and hope to be re-raised. You have to be willing to let your "only one pair" had go post-flop though.
