PLO advice / Pokerstars PLO players weaker?
Got a bit bored the other night, decided to give PLO a go (I know how to play it and I know about hand ranks etc in PLO, but I've never actually played it)
I went in to a .25/.50 game for a bit of a laugh with $50 to see how we go.
I've played about 250 hands, gotten 30VPP (almost at chromestar, woohoo!) and gone from $50 to $150 with a few small pots and only 1 or 2 big wins. I've barely lost many pots at all and my % to win at showdown is around %85. I find that I see the flop over %60 of the time, which seems high to me? I'm generally a NLHE player and I don't normally see %60 of flops there.
The question is though, have I just found a game I actually have a knack for? Or is the PLO skill level quite low compared to NL players? If I played NLHE at .25/.50 I'd guarantee I'd get eaten alive, but for PLO I'm actually incredibly comfortable at these stakes.
It could be a chance that I'm just on the biggest heater i've ever been on, on Pokerstars
, but it honestly feels like I'm making the best calls and folds and raises I can possibly make and when I screw up I analyze and fix my leaks instantly.
